Privacy, plainly spoken

Your reading stays
your own.

Selah is built as a quiet, offline place to read the Bible. This policy explains what the current app does, and just as importantly, what it does not do.

Effective October 28, 2026·Selah Bible Reader for Android
✦

At a glance

Selah currently does not require an account, collect personal information, use advertising SDKs, or send your reading activity to a server. The Bible text is bundled in the app so you can read without an internet connection.

Information we collect

The current version of Selah does not collect names, email addresses, phone numbers, precise location, contacts, photos, microphone recordings, payment information, or browsing histories. We do not sell personal information.

Selah does not currently include account creation, cloud sync, analytics, crash-reporting SDKs, or advertising SDKs. If that changes, we will update this policy before enabling the new feature.

Stored on your device

To make the app useful offline, Selah stores a small amount of preference data locally on your Android device:

  • Your last opened book and chapter.
  • Verses you choose to bookmark.
  • Your preferred reading text size.

This data is used only to restore your reading experience. It is not uploaded by the current app. You can remove it by clearing the app's storage or uninstalling Selah.

Permissions

Selah is designed to work with minimal device access. The current app does not request access to your camera, microphone, contacts, location, photos, or files. Android may grant standard technical permissions required for the app to run, but Selah does not use them to build a personal profile.

Third-party services

The current release does not send reading data to third-party services. The KJV Bible text is bundled locally. If future versions add advertising, analytics, crash reporting, cloud sync, or other third-party services, this policy will identify those services and describe the information they receive before the feature is enabled.

A note about future ads
Ads are not present in the current build. If ads are introduced later, the app listing and this policy will be updated to explain the ad provider, advertising identifiers, and available controls.

Children's privacy

Selah does not knowingly collect personal information from children or adults. Because the current app does not require an account and does not collect personal information, it is designed to be usable without submitting identifying details.

Security

The simplest way we protect your current Selah data is by keeping it on your device. No online account or reading-history database is operated by the current release. You should still use the security controls provided by your Android device.

Changes and contact

We may update this policy when the app's data practices change or when the law requires it. The effective date at the top of this page will change with each revision. We will not quietly add advertising or analytics practices without updating the app's disclosures.

For privacy questions or requests, contact the developer through the support contact shown on the Selah Google Play listing. Please include “Selah privacy” in the subject so the request reaches the right place.
